“I’ve devoted my career to working for the people of Nevada, solving problems, and finding ways to make government work better. Now I’m ready to take that experience to serve and fight for the families and small businesses of our district in the Legislature.”
-Julie Butler

PUBLIC SAFETY
Julie spent a significant portion of her career in the Nevada Department of Public Safety. As such, she is adamant about ensuring law enforcement, first responders, and public safety dispatchers have the tools and support they need to reduce crime and ensure the safety of our communities.

IMPROVING EDUCATION
As the wife of a retired classroom teacher, Julie saw first-hand how teachers are forced to pay out of pocket to supply their classrooms with necessary supplies. Julie wants to ensure that our classroom teachers have the funding necessary to excel at their jobs, without placing undue financial burdens on teachers or parents.
EMPOWER SMALL BUSINESS
Julie knows that businesses are the backbone of Nevada’s economy. She’s committed to making our state the best place in the nation to start and grow a business, and one that attracts innovators and job creators alike. Julie believes that reducing unnecessary regulations and taxes is key to helping businesses thrive.

VETERANS
Nevada’s active-duty families and Veterans have unique needs. Whether that is sending care packages, emotionally supporting the families while a servicemember is on deployment, or offering resources and support, Julie is passionate about meeting the needs of those who have sacrificed so much in service to our great country.
HEALTH CARE
Nevada has an acute medical provider shortage. Whether that’s doctors, nurses, dentists, physical therapists, etc., we don’t have enough of them. Julie supports licensure reciprocity between states, easing barriers to entry in these professions, and offering incentives to attract professionals to provide these critical services to our communities.

PROTECTING YOUR DATA
Ensuring state IT systems are secure. We saw recently what happened when the state was hit with a ransomware attack, and several critical services were unavailable for about a month. The Legislature has a responsibility to fund the cybersecurity tools and personnel the State needs to keep Nevadans' personally identifying information and data secure.
